Eligibility Criteria For Admission In The Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India

  • For foreign candidates: For candidates based out of India, a bachelor's degree with a minimum of 50% marks or equivalent qualification in any discipline recognized by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) is a must. Students in the final year of their bachelor’s degree or equivalent can also apply. The interested international candidates must have completed all examinations related to graduate degrees with a minimum of 50% overall marks and have a required GMAT score.
  • For local candidates: Candidates with a university degree in any discipline recognized by the UGC or ALU, or AICTE with not less than 50% overall aggregate marks (45%, if the candidates belong to a reserved category) are eligible for post-graduation. This journey at the EDII has been the most enriching experience for me. Right from the start, I faced a culture that encouraged rigor, ingenuity, and a solid comprehension of what it takes to be an entrepreneur. The courses offered at EDII are systematically developed to provide concepts and tools in all aspects, from idea generation, business idea assessment, business planning, and implementation. The most memorable element was applying knowledge in practice; case studies, role-plays, or projects followed each concept taught. This learning approach also added value to my learning process and equipped me to face real-life problems head-on. With qualified faculty members drawn from the industry and academics, EDII has assembled a pool of experienced and knowledgeable tutors. This is why my mentors played an essential role in forming my entrepreneurial thinking and developing business skills. This approach helped develop critical thinking skills, instilled a sense of curiosity, and encouraged the audience to think beyond the obvious. Out of the classroom, the ecosystem of EDII is colorful and inclusive. Meeting other successful business persons, investors, and professionals in the related fields was beneficial. My experience of joining EDII was one of a kind for me, and this institution was the best place for me to cultivate my entrepreneurial spirit. The principal strength of EDII is its outstanding faculty. Their willingness to help ensure our success became apparent through the level of attention they paid to each of the students, including myself, as they guided me through the business strategies and issues. The courses are designed to provide comprehensive coverage of every segment of entrepreneurship, ranging from market research, competitive analysis, strategy formulation and implementation, and even management of the various costs and finances involved in running the business. This means that the faculty at EDII are highly talented with adequate experience and understanding of the industry they serve alongside excellent academic brains. Without their contribution in terms of knowledge to enable me to understand the numerous and varied challenges inherent in creating and managing a business enterprise, it would not have been easy to achieve the objectives of this project. Also, the knowledge-effective interactive learning activities, case studies, and business simulations help understand entrepreneurship. Another remarkable aspect of being a part of EDII is its vast network of entrepreneurs, iGEMs, mentors, and investors.   • Fellowship Scheme: The institute offers fellowship schemes to students under the Economically Weaker Sections. The fellowship is given to students based on merit.
  • Stipend & Contingency Grant: FPM executive committee will be given a stipend of INR 25,000 per month for the first 2 years, and then the stipend will be increased up to INR 30,000 per month based on the academic performance in the 3rd and 4th years. In addition, candidates can avail themselves of a contingency fund of Rs. 30,000 in the 1st year of the study and Rs. 20,000 per year in the subsequent 3 years. EDII (Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India) has not yet commenced the online application process for PGDM-BE course. The online application process is expected to commence after the announcement of CAT results or in December 2018.
